First time I've seen them this season and on the whole I was impressed with most of the players except Dudgeon. The goalkeeper is an improvement on last seasons that's for sure........Turnbull is far more commanding in his area. Those loan signings need to be made sooner rather than later before the rot sets in - and those signings need to strengthen the spine of the team. Spine of the team = goalkeeper, centre back, midfielder, centre forward. We have a good goalkeeper so other than a new left back the spine of the team needs to be strengthened: 1) A new commanding loud centre back of the Darren Moore type.............Ramage will do. 2) A new hard biting centre midfielder who can lead the way on how to close people down and tackle. 3) An old fashioned centre forward of the big ars.ed Shipperley type who can score but also can hold the ball up and bring the quicker forward players (which we have) into play. In other words - we are not far off being a decent team - but the most important area of the team needs to be strengthened and that's the SPINE of the team A team is like a tree.........the trunk needs to be strong to support the branches.
**** that. We've plenty of players. Pick a formation, 4-4-2 probably, stick to it, select round pegs to stick in them round holes, and see how it goes. The constant chopping and changing of both players and formations isn't helping. In my opinion.
Danny Boy Wilson can only use the tools that are currently at his disposal in the toolbox. Hes got plenty of little fancy screwdrivers and spanners that can open up the door..........he's just lacking a few hammers and hatchets
