Not usually one for going on about attendance's between clubs, but I couldn't help/resist putting a little perspective on our opening game attendance. What I believed to be a good crowd (10,000ish home fans) now becomes an excellent crowd looking at 2 of our local teams. Donny, Won their First 2 away games, Their total attendance was 6,400ish against Port Vale. Rotherham, their fans riding on a wave of Euphoria and playing a big club in Wolves, Total attendance 10,700ish. Think wedid quite well. If we can can something from the Coventry game. I suspect we could see another 10k crowd.
Very good crowds for both home games so far considering Crawley brought 215 and Crewe 208. Gillingham will bring about the same too.
I think if we play consistently well then we will get 10,000+ for quite a lot of the games. People want to see a winning side, regardless of the league.
Trouble is, a lot went away from the Crawley match very disappointed and will take some persuasion to return.
I said the same. I find this whole thing very confusing though - were there really four times as many Crewe fans as Barnsley fans there on Saturday? I think I might just be really bad at estimating the size of crowds.
To give rotherham a little credit they only had a handful of home tickets left segregation and wolves only taking 1600 out of a possible 2100 was the reason it wasn't a sell out. Reckon if we can average 9.5k through season we've done well
if we win tomorrow i think we will get another good attendance, lets aim for highest for the weekend in league 1
Id have took a guess at a little over 100 crawley fans but if you counted I'll take your word... You must have been bored of watching the **** on view that day.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'd be amazed if Gillingham gate is much above 8500 to be honest. There was a good turn out v Crawley due to expectations being high & it being first game. Because it was a poor display many of the floating fans will need some convincing to return.
A win tomorrow and half decent weather on Setday and we'll be touching 10 thou. Defeat at Cov, we'll be back to the hard-core 8,000.
Yeah first competitive games for three months and a nice day weather wise. Talk of possible frost this weekend which will affect the crowd.
