Before any recruitment, and counting only the players expected to still be here in August, what would you say is our best XI?
    .
    Steele
    Hassell Foster Collins McNulty
    O'Brien Perkins Digby Done
    Rose Davies
    .
And, would you back your XI to do any better right now than the sides that KK currently selects?

Prefer any team to play 4231, think it works.

Plus all of the younger players can play that role and fully understand it.

    omg
    it worked a lot.
we played it all first half of season but we lost all the players and had the right balence.
    attack butterfield
box to box deeper ball playet in drinkwater
    ball winner in perkins.
since the derby game we havent had the balence

    we should try imo
    tonge
digby OR smith not together both play same
    doyle/dawson/ perkins
then done WIDE and another winger (obrien back full training on monday i think) which could be clark/ rnl/ taylor ect

davies. lets get back to how we played in sep, oct, nov dec and even jan.

Perkins is not a fookin ball winner. How do you know ALL the young players can understand this? What's your evidence?

It`s not worked so well when we have gone a goal down though HT with only the Forest and Watford draws to show for it if memory is reight. When we were on form we were scoring early in games, quick of the mark but once we have gone one down the writing has been on the wall. Maybe a good system to start a game but when 1 down something needs to change, formation, game plan, players.

I actually watch the u18's Conon not just comment about them without knowing about them.

They play in a 4231 or 433 style.

When we had a full team to pick from we didn't concede many goals because we were strong in the middle and could keep the ball for long periods.

    Perkins is a ball winner.

I actually agree with HT! I think it can be varied for the opposition but the best team I have seen this season would be a variation on 4-2-3-1 with Perkins and Drinkwater as the two, O'Brien right Vaz Te left and Butterfield behind Davies.

the problem is the key man in that was Butterfield to provide the creativity which we just haven't had since he left. Perkins also struggles in a 4 man midfield. We won plenty of games playing that. We've also used a 4-4-2 effectively too but to say 4-2-3-1 hasn't or couldn't work with the right players isn't true

    Correct.
If Perkins isnt a ball-winner, then why has he made the most tackles?
Ignore the trout, man.. he just has an anti-Perkins agenda.. maybe he's albino-ist

Yes we did have to change it when Drinkwater got injured, but my original point was about coming back into games after going one down, when Hemmsy said we didn`t concede many when playing well.

The system played is only as good as its parts.

Coming back to the Ipswich game we conceded straight after KO and then 4 mins later and we went to pieces, a bit like Reading game Saturday.

Big difference between doing it for the academy and doing it in the big league.

Digby.... Mmmm. There is only one bloke to thank for him being a bfc player. Unfortunatey not at bfc any more (and DEFINATELY our loss). Acamedy didn't think he was good enough, the one bloke pulled out all the stops to make sure he stayed. We've a good one here. Cheers, you know who you are (if you read this).
