Like many of us I was at Huddersfield and Cardiff - what an achievement. When Ritchie took over we were heading for Div 2 - 18 months later we are in the Championship facing Palace,Leeds,Birmingham,Sunderland etc. etc.
Huddersfield rewarded Peter Jackson with a new 3 year deal.
What did our Chairman do?
Offers man of the match and captain a LOWER wage deal
Fails to keep McPhail or attract Chopra back
Fails to secure the contracts of key players (eg Brian Howard)
Fails to give Ritchie and Holden new deals and instead suggests that we buy MORE youth and inexperience and suggests that the manager won't spend money. We dont need more YTS,we are not a training ground for the bigger clubs to toughen up the sprogs.

How can a manager whose own future has not been confirmed attract new players on a wage structure that is more Conferance than Championship.
The older more experienced players don't come cheap (wage-wise anyway)Windass,Parlour,Ugo Ehoigu etc want to know if they are bought by a manager he is stil going to be there the week after.

New contracts all round, shake hands and get on with the job please gentlemen. Survival this season will be an achievement to be proud of.

Brian Howard is a great player but has put weight on over the past few weeks. After the first few games he proved he can do it at this level but the last 4 in my opinion he is less effective and not worthy of a new deal just yet.

mmm, maybe he knows he can hack it at this level, and knows other clubs know that. And maybe h'es fed up with losing every week and would rather sign a pre contract deal in January.

Well said Greyman, totally agree.

For me, even if AR goes I will have my doubts about GS. Can't see any change what so ever should AR go.

Agree, YN.

In theory when Reid was injured and Bobby had 3-4 great games at Centre Back, Reid should have been shitting himself about getting back in the team BUT end of day he knew AR really had no choice but to move Bobby back across to the right.
Same with Richards, he needs to be dropped just to show that he can be and he needs to start finding the net asap.

spot on mate...the foundations of a exciting team in a couple of years are clearly there with good young players/management we just need that experience to get us through the relegation battle of this season

More fool the Huddersfield chairman

what does a contract mean in football these days? without McIndoe and Togwell we'd be down already. results on the field matter. we're on of the poorest runs for a long time and the manager needs to address it. David Lucas and Danny Cadamateri arent going to help. Lets see what happens over the next few games.

Can we stop this Chopra ********??

The lad was never, I repeat NEVER coming back to Oakwell. Whether we asked or not, I don't know, but he would NOT have rejoined the club.

Did you mention the fact that...

Having just effectively stabbed Ritchie in the back, live on radio Sheffield, he will probably struggle to convince a really good manager to move to Barnsley (with the prospect of him as a boss). Shot us in the foot really. He's like a low rent Doug Ellis.

I don't trust him at all - I think he lacks integrity.

err no.

You told me what you thought you knew and the basis behind your statement.

However it is not proof by any stretch of the imagination.

Were you Chopra's agent (which you are not) it would still p-rove nothing.
