I honestly cannot remember having such a good all round team. COG and Pederson up front have the makings of becoming the best strike force in the league. Our 5 wingers (if you include Mellis) can all play very well out there, which excites me greatly. Perkins and Fox are very good central midfielders and just what you want in there, no fancy tricks, very reliable, great players. Our defence is starting to look solid, too, M'Voto and Cranie could form a good partnership in there, and no matter what people say, I rate wiseman and Kennedy. And then we have Butland and Steele... 2 of the best English goalkeepers. Onwards and upwards... YOU REEEEDDSSSS
Calm down pal! We scrape a home win against a team who rarely win away - nothing to get excited about. The next month or so should indicate whether they are any good or not. We've always been rubbish in defence, there's only really Cranie at the moment who is reliable, if "tangs" ever gets over his injury then I would have a bit more confidence. Can't really grumble with the strikers, O'Grady is as clinical a finisher as we've ever had and Pedersen looks decent as well. Jury is still out on the midfield - those who were brilliant at the back end of last season seem to be struggling to find form. Perkins was good yesterday but he seems to have lost some consistency, Mellis was decent as well but can't help thinking we lose a lot of his threat by sticking him on the wing. Apart from his goal, Paddy was shocking yesterday, hoping that's just because he was ill.
