Austin, Reid, Kay, Hecky...that just says massacre waiting to happen for me. Is Eckersley likely to come back before season end? It's a complete indicment of how crap this club is run. the fans have been moaning for decent defenders since the play-offs and before, and the we must now rely on the defense that barely go us through league 1 to keep us up.
Someone told me today that Peter Rajczi is a good centre-back.... I understand we've been using him as a defender in training....
Bottom line is - nowt we can do about it now, Eckersley injured, Nyatanga recalled by Derby as they are short of defenders, neither of which we could have foreseen, so it's pointless whinging on about how we needed defenders right now as we had them and they've gone….now is the time to get behind the players who are in the team for the next 3 games and give them the support to help them achieve safety in the division.
Didnt we have 20 clean sheets last season? It certainly wasnt the defence to blame for us just scraping into the playoffs. It was a lack of goals. Lets get behind the boys for the last few games and be the extra man like we were at Saarfend.
