After watching yet another bagful go past our defence while kay wasn't playing and after reading EastStanders post yesterday (or the day before) saying how Kay had been an integral part of the worst defence in the league, I thought i'd do a check.
While Kay has been on the pitch we have conceded 45 goals and this has taken place over the course of 32 games. This works out at 1.4 goals per game. While he hasn't been on the pitch we have conceded 40 goals in 16 games (two games he went off and we conceded afterwards), this is 2.9 goals per game. Using this maths and assuming that kay had played every minute of every game the defence would have only conceded 65 goals instead of 85, taking out goal difference right down to -12 rather than -32.
Obviously that's a really simplistic view and doesn't take into account certain factors but it is food for thought before the manager gets rid. 40 goals in 16 games that Kay wasn't on the pitch....

You and I must have been watching different matches. IMHO, Reid has only performed at a half decent level in his last 3 or 4 games.
RE: All This Talk About Antony Kay But........ Based on his recent performances, yes we did. Based on the majority of his performances this season, no we didn't.
