He must have been doing something right.

If we don't get into the top 6 by the end of the season then other than the JP Trophy its been a very poor season.

And Id rather be at Wembley for the Play Off final than the JP Final.

The talent in the side should be at least top 6........maybe top 2.

If you offered every fan 7th and winning a trophy in December they'd all take it

And sayings our form has dropped depends on how you look at it. We've got 25 points from 12 games under Heckingbottom which is just under 2.1 points per game

Yes under Johnson in our last 6 games we got 3 points per game but using such a small amount of games is unfair. Under Johnson this season we got 40 points from 29 games which is a significantly lower 1.4 ppg

In our last 12 games under Johnson we got 25 points; identical to Hecky's record so far. So it could be argued that nothing has changed, which has been a good thing because we were in such good form when he left

However there is no way we would have kept winning like we did in Johnson's last 6 games, form obviously would have tailed off a little. I dare say that if Johnson had stayed we'd probably have the same number of points as we have now

    Heckingbottom - p 13, w 8, d 2, l 3, points 26.

    Johnson's last 13 games - p 13, w 8, d 1, l 4, points 25

    Statistically incorrect.

Did a good job, granted. But your argument about form is flawed.

Yes he admitted defeat after pressure from everyone, owner, directors, coaches and fans and abandoned his entire football philosophy and did exactly what over 10,000 people had been telling him to do all season.

Well done that man on only ruining a season before admitting he wasn't god

I don't agree.........we were on a roll when LJ left.
He left at a really bad time.

Our last 4 home games which we should have won all 4.......instead we lost 2, drew 1 and won 1.
That's not promotion form.........I think we have probably foooked it, and it looked so good just a few weeks ago.

And this is a major point........winning the JP Trophy was great..........but at what cost to the league ???

Because in my opinion the JP Trophy has had a NEGATIVE INPACT on our league form.

Which if this turns out to be true, and it prevents us getting promotion, then the club has potentially lost ££££££££MILLIONS

Yes but that winning run could only have gone on for so long, we would not still be winning now, and would not have won 15 in a row or whatever. It looked 'so good' a few weeks ago (and doesn't look significantly worse now) when we won at Walsall. We were under a roll under Heckingbottom who continued the run which Johnson started. It's not like we started losing games straight after Johnson left. We have lost 3 in 12 since then!

I think you may be judging things just on the last few home games where we have admittedly been mediocre.

Winning the JPT is not an alternative to winning the league either is it?

Plus you can argue over the talent in the side. Some of these well worshipped sorts are nowhere near as good as people make out.

But we'll never know...defeat at Wembley could have had a disastrous effect and a blow to team morale.
