are terrible. Everytime Reading got the ball in a crossing area, they got one in. And today our two CB's were poor too. Foster is a shadow of his old self so far, and Moore struggles to keep pace when he isn't injured. Worryingly they were like statues at times. Whoever the manager is, the defensive players we have got are not good enough. We have all been crying out for a LB, and a CB (although Thompson is in now, and should have played today). But our FB situation is dire. Bobby who can do a job but no more, Kozluk who is looking like a L1 player these days, and to be honest hasn't consistently shined at all in a Barnsley shirt, and El Ham who will never be good enough. Potter doesn't look ready for a 1st team spot, needs to be given a handful of games this season. I have always wanted to give SD time but his failure to see the weaknesses in the squad are baffling. He seems to think we are ready to go and seemingly isn't looking to bring in defenders. We are going to be hammered regularly with those FB's, I do think Foster and Moore can and will perform much better than to day, but with so much supply coming in they are under a lot of pressure. I thought we actually did ok until they scored. Some decent football, a fair bit of pressure at times, even some noise from the crowd. Halfredsson looks a decent player, Gray did well, Colace looked ok again, although his passing was a bit wayward in 2nd half. Boggy had a decent 1st half, but that was it. It was all a bit of a mess after they equalised, with sporadic attacks from us. JCR was woeful again, Hume is a better option than Macken. Maybe a new manager will realise this? Its getting to the stage where change is needed and the only change that can be made is the manager. I think the squad he has assembled is decent, other than the defence, maybe a new man can get more out of them? He will still need to bring defenders in.
