out of the the whole of the English league, the Conference and even the Scottish leagues... sorry but the FA/FL should seriously investigate this and punish Charlton in some way....

Punishing Charlton is not going to fix their drainage system. It's better they are loaned some money to sort it out and relocate a couple of home games to Millwall, who would likely appreciate the cash.

Its not the fact they are struggling with money to lay drainage etc its the fact that they let Barnsley fans travell and spend their hard earned knowing the state the pitch was in and as a thought to these fans could have ad a pitch inspection earlier to confirm instead of sending positive messages that there is no problem. **** houses

they have known the drainage was shot for 16 or more years thats the worst bit

their ground staff have said so this week. In that period they had a good deal of time in the premier league... and yet could not be arsed to sort the drainage out on the bit of the club that is totally essential to a club... a ruddy PITCH to FECKIN WELL play on

That goes without saying. I was replying to DT's hysterics for vengeance and retribution. That won't fix the problem. On another thread I've said the very least they can do is make the rescheduled game £5 like last year. Either that or lay on coaches for the Reds fans who can make a Tuesday night match, not many I'll bet.

Charlton are not the victims here and shouldn't be rewarded with any kind of loan or money.

It is their inaction for 16 YEARS which has caused their drainage system to fail and it is their inaction over the last week or so that has meant they have had standing water on the pitch for a week despite it being covered and no additional water has been added to it at all (******** in my opinion, one man and a roller could clear a pitch in one days nevermind a whole club and a week) and it was them lying to the referee yesterday which has caused hundreds of barnsley fans to be significantly out of pocket and wasted a day of their lives today whilst also costing Barnsley FC a lot of money as well.

They should be punished for not taking reasonable steps to get the game on and for bringing the game into disrepute by lying to the officials yesterday and knowingly costing supporters money.

Meanwhile, while everybody is throwing a hissy, the pitch isn't getting anymore playable and severe weather is on the way. I said my piece about the treatment of fans on other threads that addressed that issue.

    Alright dear?

surely the pitch IS getting more playable as they have claimed to have a cover on it stopping further rain from getting onto it

By what I can gather, the water isn't draining away and if you cover the pitch, it won't evaporate either. I'm no expert, but it sounds like they haven't got the money and time space to sort it out. Hitting the club financially in the short term, isn't going to solve the problem. I suspect someone within the club hasn't been completely honest about the extent of the problem and it's Charlton who will suffer the most with the backlog of un-played games. At this rate they will be playing two matches a week til the end of the season.

in which case they should be making GROUND SHARE enquiries

and the FA/FL should enforce that upon them.

Does anyone else think that if Charlton hadn't put that dome on, we'd have been alright to play? If they can't drain it, then putting a cover over the top won't help, it'll just keep it all in.

Re: in which case they should be making GROUND SHARE enquiries

I thought the drainage system wasn't sorted because the board didn't want to spend any money as they are/were trying to sell club. Jokers should be punished. Isn't it the duty of the home team to have a suitable pitch to
    Play on?
