Since the transfer windows were introduced, have we ever completed 3 or more permanent transfers in this window? I haven't got the best memory, but I think Kern Miller was our only permanent transfer last January?
And Haynes, but I see what you mean. We've not got the budget to bring in loads of players on permanent deals, hence the reason in this window our three permanent signings have cost us very little. I reckon Vaz Te's value will cover them.
The only reason I ask is that it feels odd compared to other years. I get the impression this window's permanent signings are more about preparation for next season, rather than for rest of this campaign. Which isn't a bad thing, it's a new approach compared to past years. Last January was full of loan signing which were targeted to help us until the end of that campaign, there wasn't any long term thinking, maybe we didn't have any cash last year.
I reckon the three will have brought in will have only cost a third, maybe an half at most of what we will have got for Ricardo.
I don't know about buying but we've released Hammill, Howard, Vaz Te.. Would have love to have had a side with all those three in.
