Its desperate times that require desperate measures and good on Davey for recognising this. I was a real fan of Ritchie and his style of football, but it became clear he couldnt or wouldnt change it. A good coach needs to adapt and have a variety of plans. Ritchie didnt have the plans of the players to do this and was too stubborn to change.
So I for one welcome the new era if it means a few more points and getting away from our current label in this league as lets face it, push overs. If Davey is a good coach, he will be able to change this approach - our next game is a good example of that, we need to thump Southend and maybe against tham we can take a few more chances - Reid to start on the wing maybe!

Ipwsich referred to us as the 'Whipping Boys' of the Championship

And on 'TalkSport' after their Derby win against Nowrich last week, their football correspondent came on and said Ipswich were flying and that they should go up to Barnsley next week and get a result as we were 'freefall relegation fodder'
That hurt, despite the truth in it. Very satisfying to take all 3 points then

In this league, I am convinced if we play more defensively, we will gainmore points over the season, than with a more attacking style. It worked last year against lesser opposition, but in thei league with our current squad, we are just not good enough to get away with it.

It might make for some depressing watching/listening though!
