I know their are plenty of people hoping macclesfield survive their beating by the FA... but

Why don't BFC have one of those websites that they have, purely that when any fan wants to donate they can, and it then be left their so we can see how much builds up, and then the fans have the say on where it gets spent?

just a thought, or is their something like this already set up?

The Supporters Trust board met with all the BFC board last week, one of the items for discussion was the academy and how the Trust could raise money to assist in funding our future players and facilities.

It was agreed that one project we could resurrect was the “Sponsor a Seat” which raised money during the administration period. This was suspended until all matters of ownership and finance was sorted out. With this now firmly in control of the current board we are quite willing to facilitate this scheme.

All monies raised will go to the Supporters Trust, in a totally separate bank account. It will then be allocated to specific projects within the academy. This could include purchasing kit for the academy in much the same way as some of the previous funds were used by the Supporters’ Society.

The “Sponsor a Seat” initiative will be launched early in January in conjunction with Barnsley FC

The idea used on the Macclesfield site has also being discussed as a way in which we can raise money and we will be looking at putting something similar on our website in the near future.

Other initiatives are also being considered and announced later. We are open to suggestions.

All monies raised will be audited and accounted for. Discussion will also take place into if & how NON-Members can get involved

Thanks for this, good info... hope you will keep everyone updated.

Only concern, is that will this be "1 pot of money" of many different pots. Many different pots will not really solve anything cos people will argue that Pot a should only be for X, and Pot b should only be for Y etc.

I was thinking along the lines of one giant pot, where the contributers vote on what they want the money, or parts of, to be supporting.

But then again, different Pots will allow people to contribute to exactly that without the vote aspect.

Parden me talking strangely... if you can understand it.

But the idea of different pots, it could take longer to fund one specific object, as everything will be spread about..

Oh what am I talking about, I can't explain it, so Get some pots and I'll opt in whichever.

    Cheers anyway

    I have suggestions:

    1. Sell wool from Jay's head.
    2. Get Hartog to do a ''Lovingstone's Shagathon''.
    3. Ask TM's Dad to donate some fish fingers.
    4. Get Dillinger to charge people five pounds sterling to go on his ''Back to the Future'' ride.

If I sponsor a seat - can I one out on it?
    During a game?

    ''Knock'' ...

... is the word I was unsuccessfully looking for.

A bit like Jay sniffing for roll ups down the side of the sofa.
He's like a truffle pig, but without anything to do with truffles.

    Dwarf M&M.
I thought I'd read just about everything.

    Dirk

If you are referring to the buy.at/ scheme then we are already in it. It is proving to be a success this christmas with over £50 in commission coming our way.

To see more on our shopping, visit the trust shop at http://www.barnsleyfcsupporterstrust.org.uk/shop1.htm

    Cheers and Merry Christmas
