    You're right David - we hardly ever lose out on penalties.

    Disappointed as I was when they got the equaliser I was confident we would go through. Nice helping hand from Davies - blasted over, and Perkins - keeper saved. 100% from our lads.

    Wembley here we come :D

    I can recall us losing just one penalty shoot out whilst I've been going. Can't remember exactly how long ago it was, maybe just over 10 years ago. I want to say it was against Preston in the league cup but I'm not sure. I can think of about 10 we've won in the last 20 or so years though.

    I just don't like them dragging out as much as the one against Scunny in the League Cup a few years ago.

    my memories of penalty shoot outs,
    we went out of the Lg cup at Blackpool in 1989, after drawing both legs 1-1. we went through against Wigan in 1990, after both teams won the away leg 0-1. we went out against Grimsby in 1992, after drawing both legs 1-1. we went through at Preston in 2005, after drawing 2-2 aet.
    and we went through in the Zenith cup at Sheff Wensdy in 1990, after drawing 3-3 aet.

    ok smarty Sparty lol. of course i remember the Swansea play off final but im talking about cup ties and wether we went through to the next round or not.
    did we once have to win the toss of a coin, it might even have been that Lincoln game in 1979. i might be wrong again there though.

    Unfortunately we lost only last season on penalties to Oldham in the JPT after Sam Winnall equalised in the last few minutes.

    Before that cant remember previous time so would be a good few years ago.

    I can't remember which league it was (might have been Yugoslavia), but at one point all draws in that league were settled by penalty shoot-outs. That might be our best hope :)

    When penalty shoot outs first started we had a good team that would always lose on penalties. I remember us having a Perkins moment and letting Futcher take one - Sunderland? These days we are ***** but win on pens.
