One of our problems ss that our expectations are too high, yes we were in the prem back in 98 and before that spent many a year in the second tier, but football has changed. Clubs like Barnsley without the large fan base or a very very rich owner are not going to be able to compete even in the championship, those that come down have the parachute and clubs like QPR have the money and most of the ones that have neither have more fans. We have two choices 1. Spend money we don't have hoping to stay up and probably go into administration at some point and become Bradford. 2. Battle with what we have and fight against the odds to try and stay up.

As far as I can tell all we can do is scrap it out, and the lads we do have need our support to try and do that and that even includes Kayode! I read this forum and see all the negativity and we talk like we are a beaten club. Instead of spending our time beating on our less than prolific strike force lets find ways to back the lads starting at Southampton.

As for the Davey thing some of his decisions are questionable, but we do have a thin squad (and probably always will) and that has not helped so far this season. He has as far as I am concerned beaten the odds two seasons running and kept us up as it stands a third time is going to be a very hard battle. If changing him meant we would definitley stay up then I'd vote for that, however I don't think it would, so I'd stick and give him more time this season.

Anyway lets get behind them and show them that we are up for the fight and are with them 100%! Those that are making the trip to Southampton roar them on from the off, i was there at Blackpool and the fans performance was as dour as the players, lets lead by example and show some real passion!!!!

    COME ON YOU REDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good post mate, but to be honest our expectations aint too high, this is our 3rd season back in this league and we expect a little more effort from the players. nothing wrong with that

    Fans expectations

I have watched the reds for 32 years and never had high expectations, just want commitment, good football and a"little something better than the previous season but certainly not the premiership. I think your post is condescending to the majority of fans who all can quite clearly see the problems at the club , i have some journolistic insight into the club through local paprers and media and i quite simply see a arrogant manager who HAS lost the dressing room as was clear to see on tonights performance and who will not be humble enough to accept mistakes

No problem with commitment for me

I thought all the lads played with passion,no problem there, but we seem to have lost defensive solidity,Moore didn't play badly, but fetching him in seems to have changed things for the worse, although I can't quite pick out why.
We have the same scoring problem we had last season, but are not as good at the back, problems Davey has to solve.

So strolling about and a total and utter lack of commitment's O.K. with you is it? because tonight's "performance" was a disgrace, they weren't worthy of our support and if posts on here are to be believed howard's out celebrating! Take off those blinker's and start to aim higher or you'll be sat on your own away at frickley talking (to yourself) about when we we're in the league in the good old days!

What I am trying to get at is that the posts on here make is feel that unless we were near the very top end of this division people would still want changes, I'd like to see us finishing the season safe with 5 or 6 games to spare as it stands I think thats about as high as we can realistically aim. What we need though is despite poor performances is for the fans to make a showing, as it stands the lads might as well be playing in front of 1000 fans with the amount of noise and passion shown.

Hmm which post were you reading, I am trying to stir us into getting behind the lads, as sitting there grumbling certainly won't help.
