It would appear that our promotion parade is doing the rounds on social media as all kinds of people I know from lots of different walks of life sending it on to me laughing at the attendance, I just wondered if anyone else had experienced it? Even people from work that don't follow football had heard about it!
Yep- my missus is a Leeds fan and she'd heard about it. Showed her some of the images on the BFC insta and she agreed that certain news outlets were taking the piss.
Yes someone has footage from down by the train station with just a few people following the bus. Who cares what people think we went up, a Sunderland fan commented on one post on Twitter so I pointed out the only bus they are getting on at the minute is the one down to Portsmouth.
I've had it all week from deedars. One of them even said have we had a whip round for the players trip to Vegas. I pointed out to him chien lee owns 7000 hotels all their owner has is 7000 sq mile of desert.
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....depressing-thing-ever-open-top-bus-video/amp/ Yeah we get slated on that article (Obviously The Sun are s***houses) but in fairness the video does look depressing lol... it’s just an unlucky segment of the parade that looks obviously way different from when the bus gets to the tarn hall! Today’s news is tomorrow’s chip paper lol and in fairness they do mention in the article that it’s not a fair reflection and thousands of people attended it
Its been blown all out of proportion, but im not bothered, we won promotion. But at the risk of getting some hammer on here, I werent so sure we should have been having one, finishing second in League 1 was great but not sure it warranted a open top bus. Just my opinion.
Its been put to bed on twitter with the pictures from the town centre. There was a video of Luton's bus travelling to theirs with only a few people on the side streets but loads were in their main square. Their rivals didn't post it, they aren't as bitter as our rivals down the road who posted it.
Obviously this is not at all worth bothering about but it does show how a snapshot of part of a scene, without context and accompanied with a partial story, can have people totally fooled. Numerous social media shares later and something totally unrepresentative of the truth becomes gospel. Most fans will have seen the other pictures so not to worry.
Yes. I've had a text and an email from Leeds fans I know taking the pi55 after seeing the footage near the interchange. I also work with a Leeds fan who I happened to be with today and it was the first thing he mentioned. Needless to say I had to endure banter for the next couple of hours. I hope Derby smash them.
They are the pictures sent to me via email from a Leeds fan. He must have squeezed 'lol' into his email about thirty times and it was only about eight lines long. When the national media do this it's not surprising that other fans take the pi55.
A lot were in front if it or on the bridge. And I think just after it must have been taken you would gave seen a large swathe of youngsters walking up and chanting. Technically maybe there shouldn't have been ibe, but the players and those who turned out loved it so I think the right decision was made.
When Derby win 2-0 tomorrow night at Elland Road, you can ask your Leeds supporting workmate, " what beeps when it goes backwards."? The answer is "Leeds United's open top bus after all the balloons and signs have been taken off it and Arriva have reversed it back into the garage when they are told it's no longer needed. " Some Leeds fans I know, are busy booking hotel rooms in the Wembley area. I've told one, he's better off buying tickets for a West End show, because that's the only performance he is likely to see in London over the coming weeks.
Like. I will use this if Leeds screw up. Luckily I work from home most of the time so if they don't I will be avoiding any contact with Leeds fans and will be deleting any emails and texts I receive for the duration of the summer.
