Assuming (big assumption I know) that those offered contracts sign up I don't think we need many more new players. If O'Grady signs I reckon we just need a RWB, a CB and a Striker and we'll be looking quite good! Also does anyone know if Lucas has a new deal and if Dennis Knight has been offered a deal and have Matty Steade and Brad Kilburn been retained?
i don't think we need a right wing back Chorley. If we are to play that role then O'brien could play in there and the first choice would be wiseman. Jones could also play there but he's more of a right back/ centre person i think. I've been wondering the same thing Chorley. I hope Lucas will be at oakwell next season because i think he's got a lot of talent and could potentially be Barnsley Number one and higher but with keepers it takes longer normally so that could be in another 3 years. Kilburns been released. Steade, i think so although not 100% sure. Strange because he's hardly played all season due to injury. When he was in the u18's he was part of the elite 4/5 with rose and clark stones.
That's a shame if Kilburn and Steade have been released. Steade played a few games in pre season and seemed to come through pretty well. I thought they might have both come through and made the grade. I know Lukas was only on a year deal and it his name wasn't in the list of youth contracts so i'm guessing he well have been released.

We also need another striker as well as O'Grady as competition for Dagnall. If we're going to play 4-4-2 a lot then we probably need at least one more winger, but then wingers don't fit into a 3-5-2.
Matty Steade looked quality in pre season, very similar ilk to John Stones. Think the squad needs strengthening, certainly need a centre half or 2, maybe a player comfortable playing in the wing back role and not a converted defender or winger. Maybe a midfielder to offer competition and a striker, 2 if O'Grady doesn't sign.
