Our strike force is thread bare when compared to other local sides:

Bradford City - James Hanson, Billy Clarke, Steve Davies, Devante Cole
Chesterfield - Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Lee Novak, Byron Harrison, Armand Gnanduillet, Drew Talbot, Rai Simons, Emmanuel Dieseruvwe, Jake Beesley, Jake Orrell
Donny - Andy Williams, Dany N'Guessan, Cutis Main, Nathan Tyson, Liam Mandeville, Jack McKay
Scunny - Paddy Madden, Darius Henderson, Tom Hopper, Luke Willams, Kevin Van Veen, Kyle Wootton
Sheff U - Billy Sharp, Marc McNulty, Connor Sammon, Che Adams, Matt Done

And us - Sam Winnall, Connor Wilkinson, George Maris

All of the above barring us have mix of youth, experience, pace and all have big physical player forward apart from us. IMHO we need to add at least 2 strikers at least one with experience and targetman to give us physicality.

Winnall deserves much better support up top rather than the Wilko man

That's the problem we don't have a plan B or C if things aren't working when we don't have different types of strikers..... We need a target man and someone with a bit of pace before 6 o'clock tomorrow.

Drew Talbot hasn't been a striker in about 6 years.

We are desperately short of options up front. I just worry that we're in September tomorrow, the transfer window is going to close and we've not addressed this already.

Those strikers at the other clubs are all loanees though.

It's a fact that third tier clubs can't sign players on permanent deals these days.

Thing I don't understand is why it is apparently so difficult to get a striker in. I can only think LJ wants a very specific type of player or even a particular player or two. Can't be finances because the likes of Devante Cole, Izale Mcleod and the like were surely affordable. OK so we can't go and bid 750k for someone but given the meagre striking options we have, someone like Ibhere would have been a decent addition, never mind an expensive striker. So I'm at a loss as to how we are at Deadline Day without at least one other striker and just as worryingly, another left back.

Exactly. I know Jay said that they didn't have a single loanee in their squad but obviously that's impossible.

Didn't realise how light we actually are up top, I know Watkins can play there but i prefer him on the wing where hes played best.
