Every single dee dar we've spoken to reckoned we were the best side. I think we were poorer first half of extra time and our lack of conviction meant we weren't going to score, even before we were down to 10 men. I'm gutted we didn't win but I feel more positive at the end of this season than me and others did this time last year.
We weren't necessarily poorer but we were probably knackered. To be fair to Wednesday they started to get the ball down and pass it a bit more making use of the one man advantage. Up to that point they'd been ******* awful just playing long ball after long ball.
We scrapped for every ball in normal time and stopped doing so straight from the resumption in extra time. It seemed a conscious decision/instruction to sit back rather than collective tiredness.
To be fair, Duff brought Watters on for the 2nd half of extra time precisely because we weren't putting enough pressure on the ball in the first part. Suggests he probably wasn't content with it at all. And for all their pressure, we had the best chance through Connell.
