How does it compare to a PC?

I've been using macs for about 10 years,
mainly for work reasons as it's supported
the design industry very well. I've also
had pc's to do some of the dirty work but
    these days they're gathering dust.

Security wise they're great (although I'm
sure that will change eventually) - although
few (if any) viruses exists a trojan popped up
    lately that was plugged overnight.

The new mac's have it pretty much nailed
allowing for a partitioned windows drive
and a host of solid home/entertainment
    features.

    Why not to buy?
At present the mac as a games machine is
well in the dark - no support/catalogue.
Although the footie games are available
and some of the biggies like warcraft.

Office is a bit shady on the mac, but with
the windows boot camp maybe not an issue.

You like 50 different programs to secure
your mail, browser and security programmes ;)

Are not into the idea of starting a fresh with
    a new operating system.

Me I likes but I'm sure there will be plenty that
disagress. In short though it's not so much a
mac vs windows argument these days because
    it is both.

    Hope that helps!

    didn't actually make it!!!

Barstewards cancelled on me as i was on my way to heathrow for the flight. had given up my job too. my mate who was in peru came back same day and we spent 3 months travelling round eastern europe. that was class. some fantastic lagers, great countryside and some of the horniest accents ever

never got to find out why it was cancelled but my mate was told that the funding had kind of gone and peru was no longer "publicity viable". still, the 5k they gave me in advance came in handy and they haven't asked for it back. i'm sure if they want to the can find it pissed up against a wall in Krakow, Riga, tallinn, helsinki etc :D

    Get a Mac

Much better than the PC I've used. Much more user-friendly, no real virus problems at all, great for music and photos. A bit crap for games compared to a PC, but thats got to be good for your social life I reckon.

Got an iMAC a few weeks ago, but basically for editing home videos. Much better for that type of thing than a PC, which is why graphic designers use them. I've used PC's to edit movie files and have to say the MAC is much better.

You can get microsoft office on it now as well. It all depends what you want it for I guess. Found it much quicker then a PC.

Just a thought mate if nobody has mentioned it the new Macs will also run Windows XP you can choose your system with a dual core Intel chip. Personally I have used Macs in the graphic side for years but now find PC catching up fast. I can now transfer files without any problems to my PC.
