Has anybody who never had faith in MR before yesterday's game now, after his comments post match changed their minds?
there's only so much you can say in a post match interview, Davey's would have been, "we had a game plan today and it worked for the most part well, we contained them right upto when they scored, if one or two referee decisions had gone our way we would have taken something out of this game blah blah blah
If we go down - im not. Hes going to have more time than Davey did taking over from Ritchie to turn us around this season. I wish mr robbins well.
I reckon he will keep us up, just. Then he can get his own players in and build his own team. The sooner the ghost of SD is forgotten the better!
No. Whilst is wasn't exactly the usual media duck-speak it wasn't exactly a refreshingly different interaction with the beloved press. Saturday showed nothing of a new man taking charge, this is not a criticism of MR as such, he's hardly had time to do much in terms of being constructive, but other managers have a significant impact after a short time - perhaps this is not MR's style. The first half was as bad an affair as I've seen in 3 years of intermittent viewing, the word 'teamwork' did not make an appearance in my thinking all afternoon, although the second half was better in terms of commitment. It looks like its going to be a tough season for the club - best we get used to the idea now to avoid disappointment later. If Robins can get stability and poise at the back we can at least have a stable platform on which to build a half decent strike force, some thing that is not beyond the players we currently have on the books. All the very best MR.
I had/still have faith in him. I just like how after one interview he's exactly the manager we need when noone really has a clue. Also interesting that when Davey was in charge those who were most vocal in wanting him out used how good our squad is and it's underperformance as a justification. (Even remember one saying we had 'top Championship players' in Steele, Foster, Anderson, JCP and Hume). Now the squad is ****. If the squad is ****, Davey did alright keeping us up for 3 years didn't he? Doubt anyone will admit to it though.
I didn't like him as a manager, he never came across well in my opinion. He seemed out of his depth and too arrogant to try and change. I felt like he was killing our football club.
Do you mean the squad that Davey spend hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of pounds on I wonder what a better manager could have done with that amount of cash. Still, let's perpetuate the myth that we have the cheapest squad in the league and wage bill smaller than Accrington Stanley's
RE: Do you mean the squad that Davey spend hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of pounds on Yes and if MR can motivate them - thats the point isnt it? I thought MR is a better manager in your opinion?
RE: Do you mean the squad that Davey spend hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of pounds on I think he will prove to be a better manager but even the best manager can only get so much out of a group of players If the squad isn't up to it's Davey's fault for signing them all. If the squad is up to it it's Davey's fault for not getting the best out of them.
And if they're right about Global Warming It's Davey's fault for eating all the pies and farting all those noxious gases the fat b.astard. On and on it goes.
