If we do well next season and get say 5/6 lives games on, how much of the lost 6 million would we claw back?
The last time in league 1 we had both semis and the final of the jpt and both semis and the final of the playoffs not sure if any other games were shown on sky
And still lost a shed load of money . The third division is no good to anyone wanting to market a club , it’s peanuts by comparison . The quicker we’re back where we belong the better ! And don’t say I’m getting all Wednesday either . The second division IS our natural level whatever the doom merchants would have you believe .
In the past it has been our level. But with the change in money over the last 2 decades we are very much the bottom end of the championship on our budget.
Yawn ! We have money , and lots of it . Now I realise it’s the owners collective wealth , but they said “ we have the resources “ . Now let’s see what they do . UTR
Yawn I know and I too am waiting to see what the future holds. But thus far nothing has changed so I'm not going to assume it will.
It has to change , as previously stated , in football if you standstill you go backwards . Hoping the managerial appointment will be a show of intent and get some positivity down Oakwell way . UTR
Agree it needs to, doesn't have to. Biggest disappointment in going down is it will be hard to tell. As we will be one of the bigger clubs in the league anyway.
In football,as in life, you get what you pay for. The problem is, like supply and demand impacting house prices, players' wage demands, agent fees and transfer prices have reached unrealistic and unsustainable levels for most clubs. The most difficult role to fill cheaply must surely be the manager/head coach. Get that right and you are well over halfway to having success on the field. In short, the days of success on the cheap have long gone.
But we did it when we escaped L1. I agree the odds are longer but success can still be had at, let's say, moderate cost.
