Not underestimating the task ahead of Danny, mind. But at least there is hope now - even if we can't avoid relegation. Let's hope this is finally for the long haul - in Danny we trust!
That's how I see it too. Avoiding relegation is a tough ask but if we can give Danny a chance and enough time to sort things out then there's hope yet that we can turn things around, if not this season then in the next. They say it's the hope that'll kill you, of course, and I was kind of growing accustomed to the despair.
The first thing we now have to do is manage our expectations. I agree he's got a lot on, but I think we can pretty much guarantee that he'll try to play the right way. He'll also give youth a chance. I hope in time he can make a few shrewd additions too. To expect a repeat of what he did last time would be totally unrealistic. But we'll settle for proper entertainment and honest endeavour - which I'm sure is what we'll get. WITWW! COYR!
Bang on. We need to bear in mind that relegation this season is still a real possibility. But now we have hope that, even if it happens, we can have a good crack next season. I am a bit excited again already. Given that I'm going to be away over Christmas and miss the next 2 home games, I may even think about shelling out for Leeds now on Saturday
I do think we might have to be prepared to be beaten at Leeds (possibly well beaten). And it might take a while for the Danny effect to kick in. But I have no doubt this is the right move. It will be very, very interesting to see what the coaching setup will be. I'd like to see Redders come in, and is Adie Moses available? But patience aside, I think Christmas has come early this season. Just one slight negative (well - I have a reputation to uphold!): why has the club been beaten to the news? Anyway, not complaining. At least they've got the right outcome.
Paul Dee-Dar Walker reporting that John Dennis thinks its a deal to the end of the season. Can't see it myself or why the long negotiation process, hope its wrong and he is given a 3 year deal to rebuild
He will do for me because he...... 1) Is experienced at this level. 2) Will give youth a chance. 3) Is savvy in the foreign market at finding unknown players. 4) Will be eager to impress more than ever so he doesn't become a lower league manager again. 5) Might not keep us up but if we do go down i'd be fairly confident he could get us straight back up. 6) Has his teams playing the right way and with players in correct positions. 7) Will get rid of the deadwood and with those out on loan and plenty that aren't, that's alot of deadwood.
