Walking back from the match some bright spark said to his mate "the problem with Leon is that he is so good that the other plays can't read what he is doing"

his mate replied with "I know, I know, if he was in a better team he would be brilliant" The bloke is practically a galactico!

I know its a game of opinions but if people are saying these sorts of things they aren't ready to be watching football unsupervised

    You are right

    It's a game of opinions.

I think he is a really good player, and I go to matches on my own sometimes. Lots of people think he is good too, including some who know far more than you or I about the game. There are many examples where he is not on the same wavelength as the other players (or is it the other way round?). And yes I know he has no pace and can't tackle or win headers.

Some people also think he is absolutely crap. In all my time watching Barnsley, I have never known a player attract such a wide range of opinions.

Leon is technically very good but is not strong enough to survive in English football.

He's a decent looking player, but he's way too lightweight to be playing in the centre, probably be better on the wing.

    too slow for the wing

His best games have been in the middle - plays well if given time to line up passes etc cant mix it against a team of cloggers. probably the best passer we have in the club and can beat a man but is so slow he cant beat someone and leave them behind. Cant tackle to save his life

the same was said about Sheron

codswallop - if they were that good they would be able to adjust their game to ensure they played as a team.

I think it was true of sheron - and that plus his apparent failure to chase and track back didn't help him, same with nardiello

Cesc Fabregas is lightweight and has no pace as such, but he is smart, plays with his head up and makes some great passes.

All out players have weaknesses, that's why they are playing in the league below. You just have to select a team and play in a waythat shows up their individual strengths and hides as much as possible their deficiencies.

If Leon gets easily knocked off the ball, play a bruiser up along side him who can giveLeon the time and space to do his stuff.

Leon kills most moves by stopping the flow and passing backwards or sidewards, he needs to be more positive and lift his head up.

We've had some terrific results with him in the team

I think he's an effective player.

He is a good player with ball, technically very good. His problem is that he is too lightweight and no pace at all, both to an extreme. Don't think he should be first choice when everyone is fit but he is worth having in the squad.

It`s the heart as big as a pea that stops me from liking him!
No pace and no place in a team that wants to win.
(I`m not usually so opinionated on here but Leon just pushes my wrong buttons)

Leon is a very good player......................

Anyone who says he isn't should be banned from ever watching football.

Good skills, decent passer, cant run, jump or tackle anywhere near good enough.

Will do OK in a team with two holding players

Actually I think he's quite good

its just that he suffers from being played out of position a lot of the time

i think he flatters to deceive

he goes missing for large chunks of the game, and gets knocked off the ball far too easily.

The word `very' could significantly lower our attendances.
