Roberto Martinez for me. I wish we had a manager who could have gave us a season like Swansea have had.

    That's it-Genius..............

we could do a straight swap-Davey gets to manage his hometown club and we get a foreign manager to deal with all our imports-sorted

you know that would work - i like the thinking on it. We could offer Oddy as well just to sweeten the package a bit

Well he's shown that when you get promoted to the championship, that there's no need to struggle.

Simon Davey hasnt' done so bad.

For the size of our club and resources - he hasn't done bad at all.

Dreamboy - Martinez? Swansea are a big, big club with big resources, they SHOULD be up the league. FFS.

I will be satisifed if we stay in this league. Job done. But we should be higher up the league. Its been a disappointing season. He is doing an ok job IMO.

Midtable, and he's done a very good job indeed.

These days, for clubs the size of ours, getting to the Premiership and beyond is damn near impossible. Think about the teams coming down next season and merging with the already very good sides that we have in this league...Stopping up again will be damn hard I reckon.

Yes, and there will be 3 coming up from L1, and the ones that struggled this season still in there. We have at least got to aspire to be the best of that group of about 12 clubs next season. Progression, steady like.

The 3 coming up will be no pushovers. Take Swansea and Doncaster as examples.

Anywhere from 10th - 19th will do for me. Unless that is, we get another FREAK campaign like 96/97 when we put a team of players who COULD play and WANTED to play and DID play and we nail it - thus getting back to the big time :)

Of the top of my head:

    Lowest budget in the league.

One of the better footballing sides.

    Stayed up.

    Anymore?

    First season in the league.

    Given nothing to spend.

    Plays very attractive football.

Stuck to his principles to football his way out of trouble.

On way to mid table finish.

That is why I am always satisfied with staying up. Another chance to get it right the following season. For me, if you finish outside the top 6, it doesn't really matter where you finish (except for a bit of prize money) as long as you stay up. Next season could be the one where everything clicks, who knows? But, I think if SD keeps this squad together and adds a few more of quality then we have got a squad that a good manager should get up to the top half.
