So that's the front two that the manager picks. Football's quite a simple game, over complicated by 'coaches'.
spot on. Half time team talks by 'coaches' saying things like "when he was stood here (points at whiteboard) you should have been stood here (points at whiteboard) and you were stood here (puts another 'x' on whiteboard) . Team mates looking at each other not having a clue what the **** is talking about and come out having no idea what they're meant to be doing anymore.
Poor old Crouchy looked a tad lost when he came on as well. I am not sure coming off the bench is Crouch's style/
work together better than Owen and Rooney they are the two best strikers but they are not the best partnership, now I'm not saying after 2 good games that Emile is the saviour but I don't think there is much future in the Owen/Rooney idea, but of course McLaren will eventually play them again because I think he may be a bit scared of reputations.
RE: work together better than Owen and Rooney Been saying that for a while. For me Rooney disrupts a part of the team. He drops way too deep, too often and steals the midfield space that Gerrard is filling. But like you say, his reputation will mean McClaren will put him straight back in when available. Doesn't exactly send the right message out to the rest of the strikers in the country.
