    Lack of.
    That’s the fundamental problem.
We have no one that can run between the lines. Even Luke Thomas would have had us over the line weeks ago.

Agree about the need for pace, but do you seriously think that Luke Thomas would have been the answer to our problems?

No, that’s why I said “even”. Anyone with any change of pace and ability to beat a man is what we’re missing (imho of course)

See how Cadden gets left behind by their attacking wing back for the third goal, shows a shocking lack of pace.

Na.. Cole and McAtee are both no slouches. Plus Williams Cotter and Cadden get up and down..
What we don't have is pace at the back granted..
In midfield we have too many similar tippy-tappy sideways types.. not one who gets the ball and runs at the opposition..and what we also lack in midfield is a general or two.. clever who wins the ball back in midfield that takes pressure off the defence.. who gets stuck in when the chips are down
Can raise the other players and the crowd
Kane Phillips Connell Grant Styles even big Russell, all the same, Ball players..
Russell no one should ever get past him without being at least fouled.. at 6"5 he's a mountain of a man, we should be building a team around him.. but we'd actually be better iff with 5"5 Darren Sheridan
Our problem is we're too nice.. we buckle all two easy..

But our main problem is and as been for years now....our recruitment and our recruitment model.. we have people who just look at stats on what we may be able to sell on and not what we actually need..
Hecky said it years ago.. we sign too many similar players for the same position
Last year it was right wingbacks because we think wingbacks are in vogue and right backs may sell..
And if this new director of football is a stats man and not a football man, which I fear he is.. nothing will change..

Small tricky wingers, that Dembele yesterday.
    Tore us to pieces.
We've got nobody like that to take players on and it's why we're so one dimensional.

We lack pace as a unit in transition too.
I think a couple of coaches have mentioned it...its not hard to play against a team who slowly build against you. Even some of the poorer teams can get men behind the ball, which has proven a problem of late.
I'm not so sure we have enough pace in the team but we could do it with our passing.

Even when we're attacking at pace, as soon as it goes to Williams, he plays it backwards and the attack is over.
