    My team after visiting Green Bay in 1990 and Lambeau on a 'soccer' tour , but on current form my money will be on the Redskins.

    Redskins are Maryland too. (well they play there. hate ravens as most people do round here. 10 miles from DC, Around 30 mile to Baltimore)

    That's interesting. I have a soft spot for the Ravens as I visited Baltimore and really liked the locals and town. Never been to DC...

    No debate as far as Redskins fans are concerned Dan Snyder the owner, refuses to engage.At the moment.

    But he did tell the NFL, Give the nations capital a superbowl and i would consider a name change, he then trademarked Washington Warriors as a name.

    Apparently it's due to the word 'foot' referring to the fact that the game is played on foot, as opposed to on horseback for example. That's why we call football, football, and that's why they adopted the name. Could be wrong like, but an American mate once told me that when I asked him the question.
