For their friendly next Wednesday against Cyprus in Nicosia. Well done, lad.
We've had quite a few Northern Ireland internationals over the years (Danny Blanchflower, Pat Kelly, Eddie McMorran, Gerry Taggart, Gary Fleming). Even Danny Wilson played for them.

Good stuff. Hopefully it'll help him with his match fitness for if he starts for us

It's always an honour to be selected by your country, irrespective which country you're from.
For me, Paddy has the ability to make a positive contribution to our run in if selected.

He turned them down when Flicker was manager, to concentrate on BFC. Don't think he'll need to this time.

I wish he was playing regularly for us, but I'll be trying to find a live stream of that Irish game just to see him do his stuff.

Hail, hail Paddy. We love our Derry boy.

Stands a better chance of a start with them than he does with us under Wilson!

Good for Wilson's Hassell. He will still be behind Shea though for a starting place for us....

Bloody hell, McCourt isn't playing under Wilson for a reason - he is the manager and he picks the team. What do you suggest, shall we have a poll on here in the week and decide ourselves who should play? I have complete trust in Danny Wilson, 20 years managerial experience with a very high win percentage, so spend less time moaning about McCourt not playing and more time supporting those who our manager thinks is the correct team!

I back Danny as our manager. I also believe selecting Paddy would improve us, make our team stronger and give us a far better chance of winning the games we need to. Danny obviously doesn't. Fair enough, it's his choice and he's the manager.

Again I support Danny 100percent. Do I think we have played particularly well in his new tenure as manager? Not really? Are we gaining enough points to stay up? Not really. Would I like to see us play a more attack minded player to see if we can win a few more games? Yes. If we don't then so be it. In Danny we trust.

What we have to remember is Flitcroft thought Paddy would make our team stronger, our record before Wilson came wasn't great was it. Wilson has tried to make us a more solid outfit and he obviously doesn't think that can be achieved with McCourt in the starting eleven. Just wish folk would stop moaning

Poor win percentage, strange negative tactics along with team selections since his return have somewhat dampened my opinion of Wilson but if he retains our status in this league then I will more than happy to heap praise on him.
I'm fully supporting the team but when poor results and performances occur as they have then I as well as others have a right to be critical of the Managers decisions.

He's a bossy bugger this Dennis-Skinner one innee? In the old days new members exercised a bit of decorum, before shouting the odds and telling folk what to do. It took me two years to even pick a team. Paddy wasn't in that one either. :(

I think Danny is playing an alien formation and negatively because he's inherited a squad of players who he has little faith in to play in anything but that way.

Even when we've been successful, I've not always agreed with the incumbent manager's team selection. Under Johnny Steele, I always preferred it when Dick Hewitt was selected, rather than Allen Bradbury. When Allan Clarke was player/manager, I couldn't understand it when John Peachey was being picked, whilst Brian Joicey was the permanent substitute for the best part of two months. Norman Hunter used to pick Joe Joyce, whereas I thought Neil Cooper was by far the better player. Danny used to select Darren Sheridan at a time when I thought Jovo Bosancic should be picked instead. Andy Ritchie used to pick Jacob Burns to partner Steve McPhail when I was convinced Brian Howard was the better choice.
However, it never stopped me backing the manager, even if it meant a favourite player of mine wasn't in the team. I used to sulk a bit, though (still do, if I'm honest)!:D

Say what you like Greekman. I like Paddy, I enjoy watching him play, I think we're better with him in the team, but I STILL back Danny as manager.

I felt the same when Robins refused to pick Butterfield, instead preferring Lovré, Colace or Arismendi. And Keith picking McEveley at right back against Blackpool once rather than Hassell. And Keith/Flitcroft only picking Hassell when everyone else was injured/suspended/dead.

And yes, Jovo on the bench instead of Shez baffled me. But Danny knew. And so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt now with Paddy. Begrudgingly. :D
