Paddy is a talent we're all agreed.....but watching some video clips tonight at the Neil Redfearn evening made me remember just what a talent little Martin Bullock was.
Just as good if not better given the level that he was playing at?
Redders said he followed Bullocks mazy runs and just waited for a sidefoot pass or the ball breaking to him for a crack at goal. Just like shooting fish in a barrel he said. Maybe one of our current central midfielders could do the same with Paddy.....oh hang on a minute, they're both back in our own half......

Bullock was brilliant, he lacked an end product too often though otherwise he could have played for a bigger club. He put plenty of good defenders on their backside many times. I miss that kind of player on the wing, the ones were once they receive the ball your on your feet knowing he is going to run at the defence with pace

Underrated member of that squad was Bully.

    Loved him.

The only player I've seen in a tarn shirt since who was similar in size/stature/style was Carl Barrowclough. On his debut. Thought we'd found a beauty. **** knows what went wrong there.

Remember Bully having standout games against Spurs twice in the Prem season. The 3-1 Cup replay was one of those magical nights. By the time of the 1-1 draw in the league, we could have done with all three points and Spurs were struggling themselves, as I recall. But the memory of Bully dancing round Sol Campbell and leaving him on his arse is one that will stay with me.

An incredible talent and played a part in so many goals for us.

I used to love watching Bullock, he had an extraordinary talent but it was inconsistent and as others have said he often lacked an end product. He was very under rated by a few but so was Nicky Eaden and I never understood why.

You're right - he was under-rated but we had higher expectations back then. He would walk into this team now, no question.

Bully was my favourite player, I loved him to bits, when he got the bal you stood up because you knew he could make somethinh happen.

He didn't have an end product himself, but what he did was to draw opposition players in, create panic, get the defence turned and make opportunities for others such as Redders to score goals.

And he was only 6st 4lb.

Ar... they'd have him in the gym every minute these days to bulk him up but he'd end up too bolloxed to run.
