I think I've reached my tolerance for how much I spend On a match ticket. 80 quid... 60 quid... 50 quid... **** me I didn't and won't pay that to watch champions league games. Never mind a division three game.
Outrageous isn't it? We had Cat 4's for the JPT final behind the goal and were very happy with them. Thought £28 was reasonable value. £40 is harsh. Anything above that is just exploiting people.
Just for a fleeting moment, I thought about chalking **** on it when I saw those prices. Tickets, petrol.....could get a Sky day pass, a shitload of ale and the finest takeaway in all Christendom for that, but.....but.....the thought of not being there just cuts me in two. **** it, I'm in. Look at it as the price of going to two games at Oakwell. If you have to miss any, do without two midweek **** games next season.
I think that part of the problem is that we don't have any time to save up for this game, unlike the JPT where we had a few weeks. They are expecting everyone to fork out huge amounts straight away. It will be the same for Millwall or Bradford, and they have less time than us. Millwall at least do not have the travel expense so that is their good fortune. I assume the ticket prices are the same for all three playoff finals across the three days. What you have to tell yourself, and this is now my mantra in my advancing years, is that you may only have one shot at things. As with the JPT final there were many people who said they couldn't be bothered because of what it was but in hindsight it was a fantastic day out and we have the chance to repeat it in something far more important. Do not let this opportunity pass you by with regrets if you can really help it. Mind you, it's still feckin expensive !
Aye, my bad. We had Cat 5's last time, not 4's. Still pretty good. We were in the upper tier at the FA Cup Semi and I basically spent most of the match feeling dizzy and sick. Odeyaji's miss only compounded things.
The JPT was never on my radar, it was a competition I was never interested in but what a day, I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
Championship playoff final are dearer. Their Cat 1 tickets are £95. League 2's are cheaper. Only slight consolation, is prices are the same as they were for last years finals.
No they aren't mate. The Champ tickets are more expensive with a massive (geddit) top ticket of £98. The league 2 final is cheaper than ours.
That's it though most don't want to risk missing out so they find the money. So it will continue to be over priced as fans will pay it.
Based on how I read the guide last night the first tickets on sale are bands 1,2 then down the price points. If I can't get band 5 or 6 I'm not going. It's not even about the money aspect. More the principle. Even band 5 once the booking fee is taken into account is still twice what I've paid all season for a match ticket.
I'm expecting my mate to say it's too much for him and bale out. He literally doesn't have the money and isn't credit worthy.
That's the thing though isn't it , it ought to be affordable and you really didn't ought to need a loan to go to a football match! As people have said its bad enough for one but a family of four tickets plus travel plus extras on the day , that's a family fking holiday budget for many! The trouble is folk say fans should make a stand against stupid ticket prices but when its a one off type game folk don't want to miss out. The FA just don't give a **** about fans its all about the money
I won't be going. Now that I'm out of work I just can't ask the hubby for over £100 (once travel and booking fees etc. are added on). Not when I can watch it on Sky for free at a pub/my parent's house.
I'm not going, but gutted but at least I have been this season. I'll watch it in s pub as I made arrangement to be elsewhere a while ago. I could go but it would mean driving to wembley and back in the same day straight off a 12 hour night shift. not even looked at prices but presume no concessions for kids
