    don't know if its been already discussed, can't be arsed reaming thru todays pages but.....................

    I don't get why they changed last seasons table, surely the point should have come off the next season?
    Could be crucial if they are down our end (see how optimistic I am already) or more likely another excuse for McCabe to get the lawyers in just cos he can.

    Had palace not fielded an ineligablle player sheffield united would obviously have won the game quite convincingly which would have given them an extra two points in the table and therefore put more pressure on birmingham as well as less on themselves which in turn would have resulted in them getting more favourable results towards the end of the season and going up automatically.

    Or something

    Because they like going to court. Extra 2 points to be gained and kick up a fuss about not being promoted automatically (unless 2 points makes no difference, cba to check). Compotastic.

    If you add 2 points to Blunts total would they have been promoted ??

    They lost 2 points due to this result. Then if the two points lost would have got them automatic promotion then they have a point.

    My guess is the two points extra would have made no difference.

    They'd have still been a point off. It was the last game of the season, too. So their only argument would be that they'd have won the playoffs on the confidence a win on the final day gave them. I don't think even Sheff Utd would try that...

    Points deducted.....

    How come they can't deduct it from next season? That would be more of a punishment. I wonder what they would have done had Palace finished fourth from bottom one point clear or on goal average?
