Why don't they just scrap the pricing policy and start from scratch? they've obviously got it wrong and now trying to compensate. http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/article/prices-reduced-for-palace-clash-430036.aspx
£20 ? Apart from the BFC totally obsessed mob on here who would sell their granny to watch BFC, 20 quid is a lot to some folk and this may be their food bill for the week. The reason folk don't attend is down to us forever being at bottom end of the table. People would find the money if we kept winning whereas they can't be arsed at the mo whatever the price cos we are poor. One good performance against brum does not mean people will flock back in their droves. Why some feckless idiots don't get this is beyond me. Hth
Didn't you say this last time? and folk said it doesn't really matter against this type of opposition? £20 against Leeds, Leicester, Blackburn, Bolton etc is a different story. If you want an equal argument you have to make it £20 for a wide range of opposition not just against the smaller teams that bring a few hundred away fans. BBS Groundhog day.
It's easier to sell season tickets. If you show a saving based on match-day price of £28 vs season ticket match-day price of £13 (approx) it looks more appealing to new/lapsed season ticket holders. Not as appealing if you add " by the way we will be doing a shed load of cut price matches throughout the season". Just a thought.
But at the end of the day, Barnsley FC is a business, it's better business sense to charge £28 against the teams where the gatesare likely to be bigger, like it or not, we get our biggest gates against that sort of opposition regardless of the price. I think we should drop ticket prices for the Wednesday game, because it's on sky, but why drop ticket prices for the Leeds game for example when we'll probably get about 13,000 people there. If you owned a shop, would you drop the price of your most popular product?
Nobodies turning up though, Leeds and Weds our biggest two games this season will struggle to attract 16k. If by the 13,000 v Leeds you mean home fans then we haven't got a prayer, only 17,499 turned up last season including over 6,000 Leeds fans when we were sitting comfortably in mid table.
Loving how the 'it should be £20 a game' brigade are already justifying their non attendance. Move to China, you can a full season ticket for £20
Really? Not that l'm in the "£20 brigade" as you put it. I think the club need to strike a price/attendance formula better than they are doing at the minute. Home to Palace in front of a less than half full stadium and one empty huge away end generating no atmosphere whatsoever, no thanks.
As opposed to what? A different stadium, on a different day, against a different team, with a full crowd, and £10 ticket prices? Ill have a word with The Don, get cracking with that teleporter Fair weather fans who only turn up for the big games, and spend their lives whining on bulletin boards? No thanks..
Dunno None of the above that's for sure. I'm in the I think it should be £20, or less, but I go to every game anyway because I've got a season ticket brigade.
