If our coach has to play these two and it seems he does, l suggest he plays them for the first 20 minutes instead of the last 20. That way it gives the team longer to make up for their lack of effort and mistakes! No passion no pride = no shirt!

The game was lost by time Cole came on so whether that was on his mind as he did put the effort in against Bristol .
Palmer on the other hand ?
Poya must be watching the walking football team when he picks him for the squad .
Poor attitude one of those that will probably look back on his career with regret , or maybe not .
Styles head not been focused for a few games , Brittain has been as bad this season as he was decent last imo .
If they put half as much effort as Carlton in we’d be alright imo .

I’d be surprised if Palmer even gets a club for next season. He’s that bad…..

    He'll get a club..
Some club with a recruitment strategy as barmy as ours, will see the words 'Man City' on his CV and buy it.
And he'll dine out on it for 3 years before finding a job on the railways in his mid-late 20's.

You’re probably right. Awful footballer with an awful attitude. Doesn’t deserve to be in the professional game.

Do you remember that very cryptic comment about Palmer when big Val was here, basically suggesting he'd never give his all for 90 mins?
I think there were question marks about attitude and commitment under Val as well

No but wouldn’t be surprised tbh .
Wouldn’t mind so much if he was one of those players that could conjure up a great move , pass or whatever but he offers nothing , least of all effort or at least the effort needed in the Championship .

Palmer has always had a problem that meant he couldn’t play 90 minutes, but his regression as the season has gone on has been stark.

Poya said that Hondermarck’s decision making let’s him down, which I can see. But palmers is sadly lacking and he cannot compensate for it with any tenacity or physicality.

I think if Wolfe can’t do 90 minutes after the international break, it’s time to try Halme or Hondermarck there.

Palmer at least will be gone for next season. Unfortunately we’re stuck with the other chuckle brother, Benson.
    Doubt we can offload him.

Maybe Hondermarks decision making might improve under match conditions. I think it's worth a try, the other subs aren't showing great decision making skills or efforts.

Palmer had a decent start to first team football last season. I was hoping he would push on. Instead he looks like a player with no physical presence, lacking in concentration and his creativity disappeared altogether. He simply doesn’t look good enough at this level. Unfortunately he doesnt have anyone to carry him along either as Benson hasnt been great and neither has Styles in the middle. We need a midfield to get a good start in L1 next season and right now i dont see it.

Kane could help us there, doing well with Oxford by all accounts

yeah but will he want to come back? We have shown him no support at first team while he has succeeded elsewhere

He's under contract & if we go down can't see Poya being here. Will depend on the board & the best transfer window ever.

Both *****. Add Styles and Brittain and you're better off with 7 men. Better that than 4 w@nkers.

I think he well end up getting a game, just by process of elimination. Poya’s got a big couple of weeks now. He’ll need to get Wolfe, Bassi and Morris ready to play 90 minutes against Reading. But he’s going to have to try something different against Millwall and Swansea. Even if that means starting Halme or Hondermarck and then bringing Wolfe on at half time, we know that bringing a midfielder on after 60/70 minutes doesn’t work for us.

Is Isaac Christie-Davies going to get a game? Can't be worse than Palmer or Benson.

Maybe we’ve shown him support by letting him stay at Oxford?
