No its not a Joke Young un wants to go and I am thinking of going in the car. Is there plenty of parking around the ground?
No, it's ****. We always park at a pub about 15 mins walk away, just on edge of the industrial estate the ground is on, opposite the Deep Blue Chip oil.
there's some parking at a place right next to the ground - think it was a sports centre or something not cheap though this might help: http://www.footballgroundguide.com/reading/
If we go by car, we always park in the Holiday Inn car park off Imperial Way (think its around £3 off the top of my head). If you Google the hotel it comes up as being on Basingstoke Rd but its not. Good bar attached to that for ale/food & obviously kids are welcome. Its a 10-15 minute walk from there. There's industrial estates around there where you can park but be careful - sometimes they clamp and sometimes they don't. Mate of mine parked in one such factory car park and they had locked the gates by the time he returned (night match) - along with quite a few others. Had to stay until next day when they re-opened Alternatively, loads park just off the roundabout over the motorway on Basingstoke Rd - because its free the tight so & so's lol. Top tip is to face the car towards the roundabout and motorway junction otherwise you'll be ages turning around. About a 20 minute walk from there.
big car park near ground, think it was hewlett packard. about 5 minute walk to ground and just off m4
