    i received a park ticket today from Leeds city council

    Having put the correct money in the machine when i got back i had a ticket.

    I have checked my ticket and the machine must have short changed me as it only gave me 2 hours in stead on 9 hours, is it worth appealing

    Clearly i should have checked the ticket !!

    Even if the machine says you paid the correct amount for the time on the ticket and some lucky youngster has pocketed the remainder of your cash I'd still go balls out on the "You've got a defective machine"

    Got to be worth a try.

    I did the exact same thing in a leeds council car park last year! I explained this in a letter and they said I could ignore the fine as they had counted the money for that day and were up on takings...

    I had a similar problem about 6 months ago in wakefield where I had paid for 2 hrs and it must have ejected some coins and I had not noticed.When I got back to my car I had ticket which I could not believe,on close inspection I was 40p short,i appealed as it was a genuine mistake and they let me off.So go for it.
