Parky gets grief cos he's from Barnsley - but succesful.......we tend not to like that in a person ...............and he dunt speke like us no moor..........which is also seen as shocking
I'll always remember when we were in admin, he was asked by Harry Gration on Look North what ambitions he had left in life, to which he replied 'to buy BFC'. He was then asked 'Well, why don't you?'. He didn't answer and the interview ended quite quickly after that.
Just because someone is rich and from Barnsley dosen't mean they.......... ...............have enough money to actually buy the club I mean, look at Windy for example, worth millions, but thats not enough to buy the club
Did nothing to help out in Administration Oh, sorry, he made a donation along with some other press colleagues. The total was about £2000, but I stand to be corrected.
RE: He was at Reading. he's a reading fan now I'm sure I've seen it reported that he follows them as he lives near the ground.
Not bothered abart him But he should've retired from TV interviewing a while ago. His latest series' were little more than sycophantic fancying of whoever sat opposite him, a poor imitation of his heyday in the 70's/80's.
You have. Another frequent visitor to the Mad Stad is season-ticket holder Michael Parkinson, who has spoken highly of the Royals on his Sunday morning show on Radio 2.
“I am really pleased to be a Reading supporter,” the Bray resident told his listeners recently. “There are some ordinary teams in the league and Reading are certainly not one of them.”

He's A lovely person He couldnt wait to get out of Barnsley. I can't remember whice programme he was on once but the presenter said to another guest "Parky supports Man Utd" To which Parky replied "and Walsall Reading & Barnsley"
