Why did the ref blow when evras boot came off? Never seen that before, and how is it a free kick and not a drop ball?
They said on the programme after the game that if your boot comes off while the ball is in play its a freekick. Fergie then said after the game that its not a freekick and that you just have to leave the field when the ball goes out of play. I'm not sure which is right.
From what I heard on radio this morning, if the boot comes off as you are kicking the ball then that's ok, howver if you lose the boot and then continue playing that's a free kick. New one on me as well. I didn't see the game so don't know exactly what happened, from the report I read though it sounds as though Fergie should be having a go at his players at complaining about the decision when Bilbao were taking the free kick!
The way the rule is you'd think it is an advantage to play in socks not footwear! We're not playing beach football here FIFA
right or wrong decision. Superb, fookin loved it, come on Bilboa hope they Murder the ****ers in Bilboa.
I think it's to do with player safety, more chance of an injury if he doesn't have a boot on. There are regulations on the kit a player has to wear and that also includes shin pads.
Same for me. As for the 2 Manchester clubs....they've already been knocked out of Europe. I can't be bothered watching the UEFA cup/Europa league, it's a waste of time. Allowing teams that have been knocked out of Europe a 2nd chance - just stupid.
A lad at work went (he's a Bradford fan) and said he thought it was slow and boring! He also left before the end so missed 2 goals!
The spainish team were good. muniain's one of the biggest talents in spain. basque Messi's what they call him. hes a forward but plays wide of 3 and likes to move and run with the ball. good shot on him from long and short range.
