We come on here because we care about our club. Some come on here just to have a moan and gripe and groan but most of us post and read the contributions on here because we care. Its not surprising that the site has gone into melt down again after yesterday. A truly shocking performance, attributable partly to the tactics Daniel has adopted and failed to alter. Its understandable that negativity abounds, particularly after such a wonderful start to the season in our first game. It's also understandable that many on here are having a go at the Board, the tactics, the Manager, the players etc etc....but we must remain patient. A few years ago the same downbeat views were a plenty going right through to post Christmas and then we got promoted and went to Wembley twice. In no way am I suggesting that that will happen this season; in no way at all, but the point I'd like to make is that we have to be patient and we need to put things into perspective. Like many on here I really do wonder about our Investors and their motives, but I do trust the decision Patrick made in order to save the Club in selling to these people. God forbid we could have ended up in the same **** as Bolton and others. Perspective. Unlike many on here, I do approve of the plan and see it as a way of keeping the club alive and developing it year by year to the point where we are able to maintain Championship status and then, just possibly, move on and up. The only answer I can find to the question about the Owners' motives is that they do see this as a way to make money and to give their businesses more exposure / prestige. Like another poster (apologies - can't remember your name) I'm disappointed by the Owners failure to deliver (yet) on the international exposure which they stated could help us grow. Whilst I agree with the objectives, we do need to tweak the strategy and I do agree that we need 2/3 players with the requisite experience. What many of us fail to recognise is how difficult it is to stay in business as a football club. Read Red Rain's War and Peace on the club as a business and it will offer insight. As for selling players, I have a very strong view......its pointless keeping people if they don't want to work for you. Pointless. Davies and Lindsay and Pinnock did not want to stay here. Don't know about Keiffer. Had he wanted to stay then 100% we should have kept him. However, from the stuff I've read and heard, it appears as though he wanted to move on. I do agree that he should have been replaced. I really do believe we have a good group of players here who want to perform for the club and who want to take us forward. People moaned about not tying our new recruits on longer contracts; the intake of 2019 are on longer contracts so we can develop them. If they move on then they move on. At least this Board recognised that we lost the heart and soul of the previous promotion side and are trying to rectify that. So we need to be patient and trust that the Manager will be astute enough to change tactics and find a different and winning way of playing with these players. Apologies for the ramblings ....as the players would say..."we reset and go again"....at least they're hungry to put things right (listen to Cams interview) ....not like scores of other older "pros" who have passed through our doors who weren't fit to wear the shirt. My prediction is that they will reset and that we will achieve at least 21st by May 2020! ps and as for the clowns who vented their spleen at the players yesterday....you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Chelsea are showing what can be done with a blend of youth and a few experienced older lads. They are a joy to watch this season.
