Have got it all wrong. Im fed up of hearing mansford thanking our owner for his contributions to the club. Dont get me wrong as we actually do need to be thankful in that he took us over when he did and has dipped in his pocket from time to time but do we have to respect every decision he makes?? The answer is no. Patrick and the board have made a few bad decisions in the last few years. Letting Robins go at the time when he asked for time to make a decision on whether he could work on a reduced budget after over seeing our only season in the championship where we never struggled or were hovering in the bottom three. The rithmorole of apointing a manager when keith hill got the sack making us look like muppets in the public eye and then appointing flitcroft as he was the only option left. Now.....sacking Danny after basically telling us all that this is a building process where we start at the very bottom of the club and work with our youngsters and buy young hungry players. Basically not expecting much from this season and to build on for the next. Our performances have been pretty dire in a moderate percentage of games but we still find ourselves 7 points off either the playoffs or relegation. How can anyone expect a manager to basically build a new team from scratch and expect miracles within 7 months. Its very bizarre and makes me wonder who is pulling the strings of the team ethics. There is a lot of unaswered questions which ben and the board avoid like the plague. Would I have sacked Danny? No Why? Because this club severly needs some stability and a plan and a bit of patience. We had that plan which now looks to be scrapped so what happens now?? We ask a manager to work with what we have and keep to the plan. Whats the feckin plan then????????? Bizarre. I love my club but this is the first time where they have pi55ed me right off.
Maybe so but when he got appointed, I remember ben saying that we need to be patient and rebuild from the foundations up. Given any manager, whats the point in sacking after saying all that? Next season for me was gonna be the big decision regarding danny. this season has been a bit worse than expected but not sackable.
Agree. I said it was at the time. Once appointed I forgot it & got behind him. You didn't. Fair ****s
Sorry I was behind him,I admit reluctantly, but I supported the team and attended games Home and Away last season. Lost the will to attend for much of this season though hence the criticism from me. As is my right
I respect your opinion mate but we started off badly under Danny and got worse, he only built half a team, failed to buy or loan anyone to play in several areas, can't really justify keeping him on in the name of 'stability', for that you need someone who puts a team together for the present with a plan for the future...the last time we had anything like that was under Simon Davey, sacked for a run of defeats that we wouldn't even notice these days.
Like. With Bells on. Agree with every word. Makes the club look like a joke and I am so angry with the board tonight. They couldn't have screwed up more if they tried. I have a nagging suspicion that Cryne minor, with his spreadsheets and his younger generation tendency to lack patience and vision, is behind this decision, and the older heads with supposedly more wisdom didn't do what they should have done and told him to put his fecking dummy back it and shut the **** up. I look forward now to the farce of not being able to find a suitable candidate willing to take the job and giving it in desperation to the caretaker.
