From the Star sport BARNSLEY boss simon Davey is set to stay at the club next season, a club source has revealed to the Star sport. The Welshman has made a ( passionate plea to the reds fans) to keep his job after the club survived Championship relegation on the last day of the season. Davey said " you will see a big difference next season with a few key signings "I say to the fans that your club is my club. I would desperately like to finish the building of this team" Club Chairman Patrick Cryne who this week admitted he is " misserable" in his current role at the club made a surprise U-turn yesterday and stressed he is now fully commited to the club, although he did admit he had considered sacking Davey at some stage during the season. Well what can i say? Simon keep your promise for Gods sake don't put us through another gutt wrenching end of season relegation battle. You have brought some very good players into the squad and we all know its hard with new players to get them to gel. What with injurys an so on. To have some one like Cryne and Shep backing you in this day and age im sure you know your a very Privileged football Manager. I think now its time for Barnsley football fans to get behind you and your team and stop being negative. We all have good and bad days its a part of life...... so come on all you negative people lets have some faith and support for Barnsley football club Hope tha reads this Simon tha got us out of relegation this time..... ya name should be( Paul Danniels ) (england)
not sure if its a u turn or just the media picking their 'most shocking angle' scenario the following has probably always been true: 1. he's committed to the club 2. if someone else comes in with bags of money - he'd step aside the media can pick one of 2 stories from above at any moment.
Tbh I don't think Cryne ever had any intention of sacking Davey. We seem to get this sort of smoke and mirrrors at every season end. Box office signing, opening the purse strings, £10m midfield player. This year it's Davey turning over a new leaf. I suppose people will fall for it (only got to look at the Davey poll results on here to see that) and get their season tickets in hope. Personally I can't see us progressing under the present management, no doubt that's no an acceptable attitude for most on here but hey-ho! </p>
