IT was a hard night for new boy Paul Hayes as he returned to Scnuthorpe United in midweek. Despite running the gauntlet of abuse from the Iron faithful and displaying the scars from a fierce battle with the home defence, Paul is still taking the positives from an encouraging display. He said: "Going back to my old club and losing was obviously disappointing but we were the better team and played some good stuff so there were some positives to take from it. It is gone now and we have to look forward to the game at Colchester. "I was really looking forward to going back to Scnuthorpe. People were saying that I left there on bad terms but that is simply not the case. I am here at Barnsley now and it does not matter who we play against to be honest. I am happy here and want to do my best for Barnsley Football Club. "It was a tough game and I got a lot of abuse from the stands but I think I handled it well. Getting the goal was great. As a striker you always want to score and as long as I can keep hitting the net then I will be happy. It was nice to score but it would have been even better if we could have got the win. "I have set my own personal goals this season and I think I have made a good start to my career here. I have got two goals in two matches but it is still early days. I do not care about how many goals I get really as long as the team is winning. I want to play at the highest level and so does everyone else here at the club. We have to be playing in the Championship and I believe we have a great chance of going up this season. "I want to score as many goals as I can; play week in, week out and get Barnsley promoted at the end of the campaign".
Ode to Patrick Foletti by Richard Kell Patrick Foletti keeps scoring goals As sure as Jay is on the dole Week in, week out - Patrick plays One day we might see Paul Hayes As sure as Ali can fit four in The Swiss goalkeeper can't stop scoring Our Chairman just can't hide his glee Cos Patrick also works for free
'Just put thi hand int air' ... ... like yer just don't care. When is our first 'road trip' this season then? Farmer has 7 games left. Bristol or Southend? Bristol is mid week I think though.
RE: Will you leave me out of your 'poetry'! I think you've got that job. I can feel it in mi watter. Did you follow my advice & end every answer with 'well, that's what Roundsman told me'?
RE: Will you leave me out of your 'poetry'! No but I wore the leather nipless/crotchless strappy number you loaned me
Well - I'm a ''true fan'' ... ... unlike short stuff - so I'll make one for Milton Keynes. As for the 'night in Wath' ... I'd rather be spit roasted by Trombone & Albatoss while listening to Roundsman talk about the Beatles.
The bourbon's hit the monitor I saw a man blow a big trombone last night at a "Trad jazz" do. f in sheet it was
RE: The bourbon's hit the monitor Don't let McDog see you questioning Jazz. Apparently it's really hard to play out of tune with no timing whatsoever. I think differently however, I can do both and it sounds ****.
