I understand the criticism of Ritzmaier. I watched him closely tonight and he gave away a lot of silly free kicks, and wasted possession on many occasions. He's played plenty of games and never really offered much.

Schmidt on the other hand, seems to get a lot of stick on here, with limited game time. 'Kit model', 'his kit never gets dirty', etc.. He's played less than five games worth of football, but has come up with three goals, and two assists. The majority of which have won us games. Fair play to him, he's still only 22 and has had an impact for us this season.

Someone who watches all the reserve games told me he often doesn't get involved but he's deadly when a chance comes.

I watched Ritzy closely today too and I noticed a couple of things today, nearly all game he was always in space and available to receive the ball, the problem was his distribution and decision making nearly every-time was poor. He was also as others have said before knocked off the ball easily and didn’t want to know in any form of a 50-50 ball, there was a time in second half where the ball was in the air and the Brentford fella(who was bigger and stronger) jumped each time and got the ball, instead of challenging Ritzy stayed on the floor almost hoping he misjudged it.

Super sub again, this time with the assist. I hope with the clean slate of a brand new season he pushes on more in cementing a regular place in the starting line up.

He looks like typical poacher. Doesn’t want to get involved in any of the rough stuff but will take a chance if he gets a sniff. Just frustrating when you’re fighting for your lives & he can come off the bench & not even chase down centre backs or go up for a header with them

After 6 months, I’m glad the ‘Kit Model’ has found its way into someone else’s post.

Id like the thank my mum and dad, my brother Mark. My wife stacy and her magnificent bloody quim, and my kids, Steve Harmison, John Cleese and the white Carlton Palmer.

******* hell, the usual suspects will be coming out with Schmidt transfer rumours next month.

He has got a 100k release clause.

I thought Ritzmaier did well tonight tbh. Worked his socks off and hardly wasted a pass first half.

That kind of player will sometimes get you 25-30 in a promotion season but look terrible if you're fighting for your life at the bottom of the table.

I've not seen enough of Schmidt to know whether he can do the former, but he certainly seems to be the type!

Goal in the 94th and then Assist in the 91st.

    Super sub indeed.

I think Mowatt's influence on the goal was greater than Schmidt's , but It's Schmidt that will get the assist

Not sure yet but he needs to push on or be moved on. He can't stay super sub forever. His first season is fair enough in a new country, new style of Football and settling in to the lifestyle. His goals/assists per minute ratio will take some beating, but lately for his 5-10 minute cameos he's played his part in us winning our last two games.

If he'd done what he's done this week earlier in the season, he would've been getting 30 minutes or so off the bench, rather than 10 by now. Hopefully he can develop his all round game enough for Struber to trust him with more significant time on the pitch.

His biggest problem is that our game plan is based on two forwards that work their nuts off to win the ball in the opposition half, and that's how we create chances. He'll need to be able to adapt to that, because there's not really many managers allowing strikers to just be poachers nowadays. Even Aguero had to change his game to fit in with Guardiola's style
