Those 3 really impressed me tonight in the second half. Jennings will cause big problems next season, cofie will be a good player to fetch on in a game that needs a lift and Patterson will get better the more development games he gets to play. Thought we took the game to them in the 2nd and they seemed uneasy with our attacking ability. Ultimately beaten by a really good team. Took my 5yr old to her first game tonight and she loved it.......bag of wine gums and she never complained once!! Another fan into the fold I reckon. Roll on next Saturday
jennings will be a threat, but he needs to lose some timber and get sharper. cofie looked strong, but for me, m'voto impressed the most. looked very assured, no nonsense and good in the air
I'd like to see M'Voto and Jeenings get a full 90 minutes on Saturday just to see exactly where they're at. Not sure you can throw M'Voto right into the action without at least 135 minutes under his belt.
Cofie - he looks better than strikers who have been regular starters for us not too long ago but definitely think he's one for the future although I do hope Rose is still going to be given a chance. Rose was only given tiny snippets of first team action last season and managed to score twice and always looked lively and capable of causing problems. Patterson looks like another solid youngster coming through, hadn't really heard of him until this Summer. Couldn't work out what position he was playing though, he seemed to be a bit keen to get forward and was the furthest man up the pitch a few times. There's still a lot of work for Jennings to do although if can be more consistent he will be an amazing player for us. Some of the balls he played first time and out of nothing were sublime tonight, but then 30 seconds later he would seem switched off or play a wayward pass - I suppose that is always going to be the case for someone who plays instinctively like him but if it's between him and Mellis for a place in the side then you have to say Mellis every time. Jennings would be a good sub with 20 minutes to go though as I have noticed Mellis fade out of a game at times in the last quarter of it. Amazing that we haven't actually won any of our pre-season friendlies yet optimism is good. You have to say Bordeaux did look like a quality outfit though, certainly equivalent to a top half Premier League team.
