That means a draw against Charlton and leicester then - knowing us, we'll spin it out as long as possible to prolong the torture ! lol
Don't forget Leicester play Wednesday - meaning one or both teams will drop points. Wednesday play Blackpool - meaning one or both will drop points. The worst things our fans could do is to make Oakwell a nervous environment for our players. I expect us to pick up at least another 2 points this season. A win V Leicester, and problem over. Keep the faith.
Since the league went to 24 teams about 20 years ago... ...only one team (Millwall) has been relegated with 52 points. All the others have gone with 51 points or less. I'd be very surprised if this season is going to be any different. It is not unusual at this stage for those contesting the third bottom place to have a chance of getting more points than that but they never do. That's why they are down there in the first place because they have been consistently poor most of the season. The most unusual thing is that there is so many clubs who CAN finish third bottom. But that only INCREASES the chances that one of them won't catch us. As will the fact that some of them are playing eachother. This season there is Leicester, The Fowls, Southampton, Coventry and Blackpool who have all dallied with the bottom three for long periods and they won't ALL get their act together and defy season long poor form. At least one of them will not win another game.
I'd be more worried if we were 4th bottom with 52 points and Leicester were 3rd bottom with 48 points with the game against them to come. At least we have a few insurance policies, namely Coventry, Blackpool or Fowls and Southampton.
plagiarism of the first order...........
and you forgot to say it was on goals scored and they only dropped into the bottom 3 on the last day
and that Mick McCarthy left them in Feb when they were 9th with 40 points after 29 games and only got another 12 in the next 17 games
so there!
