btt now Paul D is online I'm not just trying to make the point again that AR should not have been sacked, I'm merely saying that once he'd gone I still reckon Davey was the wrong option, and I think most agree, Just curious as to the ppg now thanks
By my reckoning it is this: P W D L Pts ppg Ritchie 18 4 3 11 15 0.83 Davey 14 5 2 7 17 1.21 interesting reading innit!
RE: By my reckoning it is this: So Davey is doing better than Ritchie did then.
If we extropolate those figures Ritchies Dream Team would have been on a maximum of 27 points .
Thats Rock bottom baby!
Daveys tally using the same figures over 32 games would have us on 38 points.
Well boys theres lies, damn lies and the Ritchie myth.
(casualty)

What are the results against teams they both managed against like. Davey has had a very very easy run of games since he took over if league positions are owt to go by.

RE: Come on Johnny were you happy with the team selection and performance yesterday? nt No certainly not.
I took my nephews son with me .
He is called Daniel and is a pupil at Greenacres Special School. I also took him to the Southend Cup game. Poor lad loves his football even if he doesn't understand 100% of whats hapening.
It broke my heart to hear him shouting "Come on Barnsley" from start to finish. After the game he kept asking me why Barnsley lost. He put more effort into the game than they did.
Life isn't easy for him but he puts more effort into his football than that shower of ***** did yesterday.
It was bloody awful to watch basic School boy errors from so called professional footballers. They should be made to wear a pink strip until we are safe.

As a coaching expert, Do you think its possible to improve Older players who are already set in their ways?
I dont mean in terms of fitness , but ball control , postional sense stuff like that.

RE: What are the results against teams they both managed against like. Why dont you work it out fot for us?
(casualty)

RE: Come on Johnny were you happy with the team selection and performance yesterday? nt aye but the quality of the coaching is far better than when Ritchie was there isn't it Johnny ? I mean we look a far more cohesive unit under SD than we ever did under Ritchie don't we ? You kept telling us that our training under AR consisted of players having a laugh, may that have been called TEAM SPIRIT. I've managed my business for a few years and I've found that a happy work force is more productive and that people who like their workenvironmenttendto perform better. A relaxed workplace does not necessarily equate to indicipline.

RE: Come on then wheres the Ritchie Hit Squad?.nt nt I was a big fan of Ritchie. He surpassed all expectations with the promotion last year.If he'd have finished 7 or 8 he would still have a job.The football we played this year was entertaining and the players committed. I haven't enjoyed any game since he was sacked.I honestly felt he would have tuned it round.I fear the team spirit has been eroded and we will probably finish bottom. We will struggle next year and lose 3 or 4000 Season ticket holders.Just my opinion like.
RE: As a coaching expert, Yes I do .
I am an example of that myself. I am better technically and tactically than I was before I took any coaching qualifications.
I never knew anything about getting your body shape right and things like that to recieve the ball for example.
Simon Clifford who brought Brazilian Soccer Schools to the UK did a video with Michael Owen. Owen came away saying he had learned a few new techniques from Simon, one of which he used against Argentina in the famous 1-0 victory.
I am not as fast as I used to be, but who is at 55, but I can still hold my own against lads upto 35 years younger than I am when I play on Thursdays. Most of the lads play regular Sunday League football, but I find the brain works faster then muscle and compensates for being old and knackered.
Coaches are taught to coach by being coached. That means that in a session you could find yourself playing against current pros as I did when facing Chris Barker ex BFC. I could make a list longer than your arm of old pros who are coaching and managing who I have played football with in coaching sessions. I defended with Mark Smith ex BFC in one session. In that environment you have to get better or fake injury and stand back and watch.
I dont think its a case off can you teach old dogs new tricks . It's more a case of how theold dog is to learning.
(casualty)

How do you work the total games /points per game out? If he's been in charge since 21 /11 wouldn't that be 14 games and 17 points = 1.21 or do you include the 2 cup games to make it 16 games and 17 points = 1.06 Was he classed as caretaker for the matches on 11th and 18th Nov which would be 18 games and 17 points = 0.94 I only work out 17 points between 21/11 and yesterday you get 18 have I miscounted? I'm confused (doh)
