Having watched last nights display i feel that we were a bit lucky at times and some of Ritchies tactics last night baffled me. Was there any need to bring Carbon off because he didn't look injured to me and the defence looked shaky when he went off. Also he keeps insisting on having all 11 men back defending a corner when we are 2-0 up!! Why? Paul Hayes was very poor last night but i think that he will perform better alongside Nardiello when he is fit because it adds alot of pace to the side, although Richards took his penalty very well. Having said that we are getting a bit of luck at the moment and we find ourselves in 5th place going into Saturday but we could still do better when the likes of Reid and McPhail are back, but Ritchie needs to stop with the stupid tactics and substitutions because sometimes we won't be as lucky.
Yep, that's why he came off, and Burns is also suffering from it. Some players will probably be 'quarantined' before Saturday.
RE: They may have a bad cold OK then, they have a bad cold, not the flu. But, that still means it was illness that were the catalysts for their substitutions.
Sorry, just being pedantic It's a pet hate when people say they've got flu when it's a cold. If you get the flu you chuffing well know about it.
Dont think you can say Nardiello has pace,I would like to see Hayes with an Izale Mcleod,Joachim type of player to partner him, somebody with genuine pace.
RE: izale mccleod - £1million quid An Izale Mcleod "TYPE" of player doesnt mean buying him, improved a lot since a certain Danny Wilson arrived.
Hayes was better than he's given credit for Some lovely deft touches & flicks on which a more intelligent partner would have latched onto. Richards isn't the man to partner him. It was a beautiful break and pass for the first goal and he also cleared a certain goal off the line. Not a bad contribution from a very poor performer.
RE: Hayes was better than he's given credit for I think Danny might have signed Mcleod for MK Dons,Izale is not the finished article yet though and is being talked up a bit ready for January, have faith in Paul Hayes i do rate him, good movement and excellent control a thinking mans footballer who WILL deliver the goods,it cant have helped him to have had a number of strike partners since he came to Barnsley, the best partner for him at Oakwell would probably be a hungry Nardiello but i would like to see him with a striker with lots of pace not the target man type of striker.
Your comment about having 11 men back for corners.... Is something we scream about every saturday. Whether we are 2-0 up or 0-2 down, we should always be leaving someone on the half way line for corners. Especially someone like Shuker or Devaney who are both fast and can take players on.
Why oh why do we have everyone in the box for EVERY corner FFS

RE: Ahh, Tony Bedeau? Saw Bedeau play for Torquay against Harrogate honestly he did nowt even at a level below conference.
Well organised springs to mind,Richies doing a great job were in the 3rd divison therefore have 3rd div players not feckin world beaters.
