he really is poor playing up front, i am sure most of you will disagree like, but who cares.

anyway, since Ritchie put the guy out on the wing i think he has done a fantastic job (which i never thought i would say about him), so in my opinion thats where we should play him next season. i can see him scoring more goals from the wing that up front.

Hayes and Devaney down the wings and Nardy and Chopra up front would surely see us banging in the goals.

Hayes was top scorer and had most assists.

i must admit i think he is more suited on the wing in league one becasue upfront your up against big defenders that kick lumps out of you and clear the lines, whereas in the championship you play against a few more cultured defenders (who try to play footy) so he might do better in the champonship?

Either way i think he is a class player and know one can argue with that, him and McPhail are the best FOOTBALLING players we have!

He's got enough technical ability to play in either position. I think that him and Chopra would compliment each other really well as a strike partnership as they're both intelligent footballers who can link up well. Hayes is more of a 2nd striker where as Chopra is an excellent finisher. I would love to see those two playing together next season.

    Oh aye....

That first goal at Cardiff, that were a poor goal from a poor striker.

Secondly I guess that if you call the clubs leading goal scorer poor and then say 'who cares' I suggest that someone on here will care and suggest that you don't know jack.

    Hayes is not a winger!

Be honest how many times did you see him tearing down the wing, beating his man etc. Not many crosses either. Shuker is alot better in that position. I wouldnt mind seeing him up front with Chops.

I'd rather see Hayes play there any day of the week...

...he was intelligent and worked hard on t'flanks last 2 games.

Didn't see Andy Robinson of Swansea put many crosses in did you? Anyways - would Richards have even got on end of em?

Shuker out - Hayes on wing. Ta.

Dont have to be clever to know that Robinson is a better winger than Hayes

    Leave him up front.

    No that wasn't the point...

...you implied to be a good winger you have to be able to beat your man and put crosses in - which i agree.

But both Hayes and Robinson were beating there men last Setdi - but more often than not both cut in and did something different. I.e. not getting to byline and putting a cross in.

Yet Robinson should be snapped up and Hayes is **** on wing? FFS.

I cant remember Hayes putting a good cross in...

or doing any of the other things. Dont get me wrong I dont mind him as a player. I like him in fact. But we will need quality wingers in the championship. Hayes will be found out v quickly in that position. You have got to beat your man, and cross. There are not many who can cross from anywhere on the flank. Only one in fact Beckham. I stand by it Robinson is a better winger. Watch the game again.

    So Shuker...

...will be able to beat his man and get a cross in? And will not be found out in the Championship?

I'm not arguing for arguing's sake mate it's just you seem to be contradicting yourself because for the past 6 months Shuker has not beat the first man with his cross.

    I hope so.

He does do it most game. Not much crossing, but he tends to get in the box with his running with the ball. I think we look alot more dangerous with shuker and devaney on the wings.

    Right

If I'm honest, I think your wrong.

Shuker cannot cross a ball, but then again Hayes probably can't.

However, Saturday being a prime example, Shuker can run with the ball in to the box. But he doesn't shoot. As in, ever. How many times has he had a chance in front of goal and not even swung his boot?

I know he scored ten goals this season so well done to lad, but he should have scored more with the chances he had - as should all of our players.

Hayes for me anytime, looking dangerous and being dangerous is a different thing.

Hayes came to barnsley as a goalscoring striker and i think if he played up front every match all season he would get you 15-20 goals a season. He will be a quality striker in the championship but i feel he would get found out on the wing.
