Amazing how he splits opinions. Some actually suggest he's the worst Reds player ever (unbelievable) while others think he's the best player at the club. He's not the worst ever, but probably not the best at the club, definitely one of the better ones, but the way he splits opinions, and the way the opinion varies every week, is strange.
I wouldnt say he is the best player at the club, but, he is a very, very good player. He is nowhere near the worst player weve ever had. Should be starting up front alongside Wright for me
I think some people think that because we paid money for him he should be some kind of world beater. Other people don't like him because he gets in the side before their favourite Nardiello. None of that is Paul Hayes fault. He is just a decent footballer who will score and create a few goals.
I think everyone on here knows how much I rate him.. And I could never understand the criticism. Chopra and Dyer were getting roughly 18 goals a season whilst taking penalties. Hayes has 11, all from open play. Very impressive at this stage. Not enough league goals, but he's created a lot. Whether he's our best player is debatable. Devaney when he was on form was probably the best player in this division- he's had a few knocks now and it will be interesteding to see if he gets back to how he played in the few games when he was on fire. I'd say he's certainly in our top 3 players.
His Class shone through yesterday.
It took a while for him to to win me over, but now I am a committed Hayes fan.
He made the difference yesterday,
He may not be prolific, but my God, he works his arse off when he comes on, is always in the right place for a goal scoring opportunity, makes great assists and scores.
With Hayes you have to look to th wider picture of what he has to offer - he is sheer class.

Like Tina I wasn't impressed to start with and I've missed his best(?)games - scunny and the Bradford reply but I am starting to change my mind about him>
The turning point.. may well have been his performance and effort against Gillingham. He was good upfront but when he was given a new task on the left wing, his workrate, commitment to the cause, and in particular his creativity and passing shone through. He's an excellent player, and as I said, his scoring record considering he doesn't take penalties isn't shoddy.
RE: The turning point.. Hayes is class.
I called him wholestyle when he came and after watching him for a few games.
I thought he was the worst thing ever to wear a Reds shirt.
I have my mindset changed.
Hayes is a class apart,
Hope we can keep him because we have one hell of a player here and yes, before you ask, he is CHAMPIONSHIP CLASS - works well with time on the ball, can hold it up, flick on ,has vision, awareness,
Bloody hell.
The whole team should be built around him and 2 months ago I shamefacedley posted thath I thought he was ****
He is class.
I'm even going to go darn and have his name on me shirt ready for when we play Tamworth
YooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooReds
