Would really love him to get the job full time, get us into the play offs and get promoted. Barnsley lad, great player, wish him all the best. Can understand why they're holding fire for now, but surely a couple more wins and the job's his...

Love having a Barnsley lad in charge. Got to say, love listening to his interviews and the way he speaks. Blunts must be sick of Adkins voice and soundbites. I know who i would have

I'd be happy with Heckingbottom long term. He's got pretty much everyone behind him. And I think some credit to Tommy Wright - the turnaround is as much down to him as anyone. Hope he continues to work with Hecky.

I'd be happy with Hecky too. I'd rather see him given a chance than us taking a punt on another Lee Johnson type manager.

I love the fact that we've got a Barnsley born bloke in charge of current first team and a Barnsley born bloke as owner.

Great post. We have a Barnsley born owner with a Barnsley born manager who are both laying the foundations for our future. And big Bobby Mansford take a bow also. At long last we have a plan.
Hecky is doing just fine and dandy. For those that say he's done nothing different since LJ went, pause for a minute and ask what influence he (hecky)had in the unbeatable run. Probably more than we thought given what our players have said about him.
The great thing is we have a togetherness with the club right now that's been missing for years. By and large, with a few exceptions, the fans have been patient and as a club we are (excuse the dirty scum reference) marching on together .
    Red tide rising.

Who's big Bobby Mansford? Sounds like an awful cross between Ben Mansford & Bobby Hassell..and no one wants to see that

Yes, I'd give him the job because of all that has been said in previous posts - Barnsley lad, Barnsley owner etc. I'd also like to give an honourable mention to the backroom team that has been quietly assembled, led by Bobby Hassell. I'm glad to see Bobby back with the Club; although not in the Barnsley-born mould (reserved for a very select few) he is BFC to the core. An honest and hardworking man who is a great example to young players on how to conduct yourself. So different from some of the wasters we see paraded as icons of youth. With a base like this the Club will prosper. COYR!

I loled when Adkins came out with the "room for improvement " line.

It wasn't the line per se but the way he put it over to the radio dee dar reporter ,as if he just discovered penicillin or summat ;)
